For those who don’t know, my birthday was yesterday.  I turned the ripe old age of thirty-eight.  In some cultures, I would be considered..I don’t know…dead.  No, but seriously, it was a very odd birthday.  I did have a pretty decent day at work but I came home to the usual, some lonely walls and a couple of cats.  I can’t even say I had a memorable dinner, or much of one at all.  This should not be a blog that is filled with too much dread, we will keep this semi-light hearted and have the occasional sarcastic one-liners.

It is a couple of hours before the midnight hour and for some reason despite writing 3 reviews (2 of them published up on Upcomingdiscs.com, 1 scheduled for next week) and having one more to write tomorrow, I still do not feel like that is enough.  This blog is going to be similar to the one I wrote about a month ago.  Basically a personal one where I just spill out words on a page.  No video game highlights (all I am doing is playing a game called Crackdown which I am about 2/3rds through the main story), no movies (my reviews are up, but I did watch Mud which was actually quite good), just me.  Enter at your own risk.  Continue reading “August 10th, 2013” →

It has been a solid two weeks.  As you might have guessed by my last blog post, I am not in the best of mood these days.  Dealing with my personal life has left me flat a bit but we know what they say about what doesn’t kill you, don’t we?  “Yeah, we should have used a shovel?”  Now, that’s not very nice.  But highly appropriate.  Well, this week’s blog is going to be a little more of what I have traditionally put up here.  However, I might be lying if it did not include some random one-off comments about the inevitable.  Okay, I’ll try to keep those to the minimum. In the immortal words of Led Zeppelin, it’s been a long time since I rock and rolled.  There is one huge reason for this which I will shortly explain inside this blog post.  Sadly, it’s not laziness or even because I was trying to complete some game.  Work is not even all that bad, except for the fact it has become very frustrating and hard to focus on because of the other thing.  Before we step into this post, let me just say Life…is a very strange beast and deep down I don’t think I will ever figure it out.  My only hope is that we at least reach a compromise.  Continue reading “July 14th, 2013” →

Another two weeks past, and I have had a pretty good two weeks in the world of life and work.  Nothing crazy, no mind-smashing frantic work pace, just getting things done that I need to.  Of course, I wish this to continue because eventually it will lead me to a good place where I can resume writing.  At the very least, I am doing a lot of reading in both the Shadowrun arena as well as other fantasy type books.  It gives me a good handle of where to go next.  Oh today’s sarcastic hint, today would a good day to file your taxes.  Tomorrow, not so much. Wow, so I finished writing over a hundred pages and plan to do blogs for the next seven days.  April…errr…Fools.  Yeah, not even remotely funny I know.  However, I have done a lot in the last roughly three weeks and actually have some things to talk about.  The good thing is I have been doing a great deal of reading and thinking and I’m certain that things need to start taking a turn for the better.  We should get going before all of this positivity runs right down my leg.  Ready kids?  Oh here is a tease, I have Wrestlemania XXIX predictions.  Continue reading “April 1st, 2013” →

Two weeks between the last blog and this one, I have to pick up the pace.  The problem is (if you can actually believe it) is that work has gotten worse.  It is piling up and this morning is the first time I have had some chance to sit and think since well, the last blog.  We will hit a few topics here and there, I really would like to get back to this blog once a week or even a couple with a little less content.  I don’t always have to fill the cup, but at least I should put something in it once a while (I have no idea what I’m trying to say).
