BC Deals with Gold for the Week of August 6th, 2019
So, over the past week I have given the site something of a face lift. Hopefully the majority of the viewing public like the new design and how I’m gradually going to gear it towards my review writing whether on the site or off. Any comments are suggestions, feel free to let me know. I’m always eager to listen but I think this is a good direction since BC is basically dead at this point.
On the gaming front, I’m through two episodes of Walking Dead and a couple chapters into the third one. I really appreciate the very light puzzle solving in this. It’s no Batman Telltale, but it is certainly better than anything they did on Game of Thrones for example. I did also play some more Monster Hunter World during the weekend and while I don’t feel like a complete newb anymore, I’m still struggling. I also CANNOT cook a steak properly. The music does not help. I am either too soon (rare) or too late (burnt).
Anyway, here are the sales. Tempted to grab Abyss Odyssey but then I would be strictly playing it on the 360. Burnout Revenge also has has never been this cheap so it is certainly worth picking up. I’ll also do my usual plug for Darkness II which was an awesome playing experience and well worth that $6 price. Anyway, enjoy your week folks and hope you find something good to play.

Okko’s Inn (Blu-ray) Review
This review I posted last month. Unfortunately I realized when I was working on the site’s re-design, I didn’t post this one when I should have. Enjoy.
Games with Gold for Month of August 2019
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced this morning. Unlike the last few months, I can certainly say that all four of these are quality titles. I am always tempted to play Gears of War even if I am absolute trash (worse than my attempt at Halo every once in a while). Forza is always a nice game to show off the new Xbox One X with. Torchlight I unfortunately already own (and completed) but it’s fantastic. Finally, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows is a nice get since I own the LE and another of those I don’t want to damage the disc scenarios. Great month, enjoy.
Xbox One
- Gears of War 4 (August 1st-31st)
- Forza Motorsport 6 (August 16th – September 15th)
Xbox 360
- Torchlight (August 1st-15th)
- Castlevania: Lord of Shadows (August 16th-31st)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of July 30th, 2019
Well, I kinda stopped playing Golf Club last week because basically I had run out of achievements (the hole in one and explorer achievements will just take time) and I got a Xbox One X. The older Xbox One went upstairs to the movie room and the new one went in the entertainment center. I ended up starting two games, one to use the power of the Xbox One X, and one to well…be a diversion. The diversion was Walking Dead Season 1, yes the TellTale game. I’m through 1 episode and a 1/4 thru the second and it’s a very emotionally draining game. Some of the choices and actions they make you go through are disturbing at best.
The game that I started with the Xbox One X in mind is Monster Hunter World. I’ve played it for a little over 3 hours now and I haven’t even scratched the surface. It sorely needs a guide book of some sort (and I actually complained about it on Twitter) and there isn’t one to be had in this day of very few game guides. I always use the Skyrim example but I sunk 100’s of hours into Skyrim simply because if I had a question I could throw open the book and find it. Monster Hunter World, I’m just….guessing. And the Internet has a bunch of videos but very little written down it seems like. I’m sure I’ll try playing it well into August but unless I get a lot of time to myself (not likely) and figure somethings out, I can’t promise I will keep with it. But damn, it is a gorgeous game.
Anyway, we do have a few new sales this week. This might be the first time Puzzle Fighter has been on sale since it went backwards compatible. It would have been nice for Raven to go backwards compatible instead of getting a senseless remaster. But I’ve seen the remaster for less than $10, so it’s not all that expensive either. So I guess that’s another week, I appreciate everybody who still visits this site and know that a re-design is coming and I hope you stay tuned. Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of July 23rd, 2019
Finished up Mr. Pumpkin’s Adventure over the Weekend, very weird game but glad its over with no glitches to report. I am back to playing Golf Club, and have only three achievements left. One requires some tomfoolery with guest accounts, one requires a lot of course grinding, and the final one requires good ole luck. The luck one is of course the Hole in One which has eluded me time and time again. I’ve really attempted to go for it and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten within 1 to 3 feet of the cup. It’s frustrating and I wish I could say I’ll get it but not that confident. We’ll see what happens.
Okay, so the sale from last week is continuing. There are a few new sales though thrown into the mix. That’s what is below (rather than reprinting the whole list). To be honest, it’s mostly Disney or Fallout 3/New Vegas DLC. I would like to buy Panzer Elite Action (Xbox OG) but it’s British only (which is silly when its about $1). Anyway, here is the list, enjoy your week.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of July 16th, 2019
Welp, this week I think I was stuck in a rut because I was playing some odd things. First, I went back and started playing Golf Club again. Not the newer one that was free with gold, no…the very first one on Xbox One. I made a lot of progress but it just seemed like an odd choice. And then the last couple of days, I started a game called Mr. Pumpkin’s Adventure. It’s a point and click adventure but it’s pretty pitiful. I’ll be trying to finish that one as quickly as possible. Welp, maybe I’ll find something more worthwhile to play this week, and then again perhaps not. It’s a weird mood for gaming lately.
Anyway, we got a super sale for Xbox One & 360 this week. Lots of sales, but I’m having trouble really wanting anything (I will mention that Condemned really is on sale this week for only $5). Anytime they post DLC on Xbox 360 for sale, I’m always hoping something new shows up that I really want and not the same 20-30 pieces that show up. Instead, it’s got it, got it, got it, don’t want, got it, etc. Prices will populate during the day as I get to them. Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of July 9th, 2019
Welp, I finally finished Game of Thrones. Six episodes in the bucket and unfortunately the last episode is absolutely heart wrenching and will piss you off. There is just no other way about it. At least there was some glimmer of hope though (too bad we’ll never see a sequel). I also finished Momonga Pinball which after you get three stars on every level is relatively easy to mop up the rest of your achievements. As to what I am going to start next, it will probably be the Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy game. I might throw in something I didn’t finish before, I get in that groove sometimes.
Anyway, we do have sales this week. Unfortunately most of them are not backwards compatible which is kinda odd. Normally I would come out here and say well Max Payne ought to be BC any week now. Except it will most likely never be now. Or Ratatouille has a good chance because a bunch of other Disney movie games are. But I can’t. So, either power up the ole 360 or take in a game you already own this week I guess. Enjoy.

BC Deals with Gold for the Week of July 2nd, 2019
Another week. I am through episode 5 of Game of Thrones which was easily the worst episode since the first. I can only hope that the last episode in this game series comes through to a rousing finish. I also have played through most of Momonga Pinball and the only achievements remaining are the 45 challenges and 500 levels. I hope to finish that in the next week or so. Finally (yes I was able to play a lot this past week), I started and finished What Remains of Edith Finch in a mere two play sessions on Saturday afternoon/night. It was well worth the three hours vested and probably one of the best walking simulators I’ve ever played.
I wish I could be this optimistic about the new deals posted today. It’s mostly the same schlock unless you missed Disney’s Bolt the first or second time around. Perhaps digging into the backlog this week would be the best idea and try not to think about the mediocre summer sale. Enjoy.

Games with Gold for Month of July 2019
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced over the weekend. Not much to be excited about to be frankly honest. I probably own Symphony of the Night about five ways to Sunday including the original PS1 release. I’ll take one more, I just wish it was something a little more interesting. Meet the Robinsons isn’t going to excite me either. Not to mention the Xbox One “Indie” side. Not that I hate indie games, far from it. It’s just usually these never be the ones I really want to play. Inside and SOTN are available now btw. Enjoy.
Xbox One
- Inside (July 1st-31st)
- Big Crown: Showdown (July 16th – August 15th)
Xbox 360
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (July 1st-15th)
- Meet the Robinsons (July 16th-31st)
Final (Hopefully Not) Backwards Compatibility List
Well, it took a couple of weeks but here is the final (hopefully not) list of Xbox 360 backwards compatible games on the Xbox One. I only missed one game (Sonic Generations) and a few variants like the fact that the Original Xbox disc works for GTA: San Andreas or the Ultimate Edition works for Injustice. Silly things like that. All in all, I did a pretty good job of keeping track of everything. Yeahie me and all that stuff. Anyway, here is the link, more to come on the games that I personally wished would have made it in probably a week or so. Enjoy.
