Games with Gold for Month of October 2018
Looks like the new Games with Gold were announced last night. On one hand, it’s not a bad selection of games but on the other I have the two I want physically (Victor Vran and Hitman: Blood Money). And yet another car game for the 360, geezus. If I was that bored, I might go figure out how many racing/car games we get a year with GWG. Anyway, I do miss the days when we would get a surprise with GWG in the form of a new BC game. But this month, that is not the case. Enjoy the rest of your week kiddoes.
Xbox One
- Overcooked (October 1st-31st)
- Victor Vran (October 16th – November 15th)
Xbox 360
- Stuntman Ignition (October 1st-15th)
- Hitman: Blood Money (October 16th-31st)
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood & Call of Juarez: The Cartel added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Where the heck is Gun? Seriously, they add these two meh western games and we can’t get Gun because its probably lost in license hell. *sigh*. Anyway, I am glad for these two games because I often love western games even if most of them end up hard as heck (mostly in their attempt to be “realistic”). Bound in Blood is available in both digital and physical form while Cartel you will need to seek out a physical copy which should run you no more than $10 (Bound in Blood is also about $10 physically). Appreciate the games for sure, just wish it was an old favorite. Enjoy.
- Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood $19.99 (cheaper as physical copy).
- Call of Juarez: The Cartel (only available physically, ~$10)
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of September 25th, 2018
I would like to say I have played a ton of games last week or perhaps finished a game even. No, I can’t say I have been. I’ve been in a lot of pain and the capper was last night after my dental surgery when I literally could not sleep because of how much pain I was in. Eventually somewhere along the way I did pass out and had all sorts of weird dreams which ended in a nightmare and shook me awake. Somehow, I’m here writing to you but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wish I was in a bed pumped full of some kind of painkillers instead of the lousy ones I’m on.
Anyway, we do have sales today, even if none of them are actually backwards compatible. Hey if nothing else, we have the easiest 360 game (Avatar) for achievements on sale. I actually have all of those Raven episodes but with a remaster on Xbox One, there is little chance of it ever becoming backwards compatible. So enjoy the rest of your week, and be thankful that you aren’t in the pain like I am. Take care.

I know I’m late, see prior post :). Here is the official sales link. Some good stuff thrown in here, I might even pick up one or two (Comix Zone keeps tempting me). DLC of the week seems to be Red Faction: Guerrilla with a couple of super cheap dlc (reminder, it is not backwards compatible yet, though I have good feeling it will be). Enjoy the rest of your week.

Brutal Legend & Greg Hastings Paintball 2 added to Backwards Compatibility!!
*sigh*, sorry about this post being so late. The site got hosed on Tuesday early morning, and I was not able to get it repaired until Wednesday night. In the process, we did have a sale and two backwards compatibility games added to the database. Brutal Legend is one of those fun games that I have never got a chance to play and GH Paintball 2, well I am not sure I ever want the chance to play. But they are out there, and it’s a good thing. Brutal Legend and GH Paintball 2 are both available physically, while only Brutal Legend is available digitally. Thankfully GH Paintball 2 is reasonably priced for those who are curious. Enjoy.
- Brutal Legend $14.99 (cheaper on disc)
- Free DLC – Hammer of Infinite Fate
- Free DLC – Tears of Hextadon
- Free DLC – The Love Giver Guitar
- Greg Hastings Paintball 2 (only available on physical disc, should run you about $10)
Rumble Roses XX and Zone of the Enders HD Collection added to Backwards Compatibility!!
Holy crap. And here I thought we would never get Rumble Roses. I just assumed it was one of those games that was just to be bottled up and forgotten about. But no, when it got re-listed (after being delisted for so long) on Xbox Live to buy as a digital title I got a little excited since that’s usually a good indicator. Welp, my odd dreams have been answered. I might actually fire it up soon and run through a couple of title runs. $14.99 is reasonable for the digital since a physical copy will probably run you about $20. Zone of the Enders isn’t even available digitally and a physical copy will run you $10-$15. But this kinda thing gives me hope for games like Gun. Have a good rest of the week, enjoy.
- Rumble Roses XX $14.99 (physical copy available as well)
- Zone of the Enders HD Collection (only available on disc)
BC Games with Gold for the Week of September 11th, 2018
Hope everybody enjoyed my review of Elea – Episode One. It was a lot of fun to play and review that. I’ve actually beat the game twice now and have all but two achievements. I’m in the top 10 @ TrueAchievements mostly because only one person has actually 100% ed it. The last two are difficult though. One involves sitting on everything you can throughout the entire game, the other involves completing all of the optional interactions in the spaceship chapter. The later is difficult because after a certain point, everything closes down in that chapter because it is gearing you for the end of the game. So, somehow I have to complete all of the extra stuff before that happens. We’ll see I guess.
So, we have a bunch of sales this week. A lot of Assassin’s Creed, a lot of Battlefield, a lot of Tom Clancy. However, hidden among all of that are some standout discounting like ArcaniA (and its DLC) along with Black Knight Sword. Honestly, I doubt these would become backwards compatible (though I would happily be wrong in that case) but at that price it should be still worth your money.
By the way, speaking of titles that have not gotten backwards compatibility, Kingdom of Amalur. That game is now in the hands of Nordic (no longer EA). Supposedly they would like to do a sequel, but I would guess now that they bought the rights to the title they would probably also do a remastering of the original. So while not certain of course, this probably means no BC. Unfortunate, but a lot of these smaller RPGs on the 360 get pushed aside and unfortunately forgotten. Tis a sad fate for RPGs not named Skyrim, Dragon Age or Fallout on Xbox. Enjoy the rest of your week kids.

Elea – Episode One (Xbox One)
Often on this site, I have talked about my deep appreciation for the publisher known as Soedesco. I have imported their physical games from Europe, I have bought some of their games here in the States, and have at the very least had an interesting experience with each of their games. They give the smaller developers a chance in a very crowded marketplace. As it turns out, when Soedesco did an open call for reviews of this game, I jumped right in and surprisingly they were more than willing to send me a code. Space Adventures, Devastating Secrets, and Wonderful Revelations, I’m certainly in.
BC Deals with Gold for the Week of September 4th, 2018
Well, I did finish the 3rd episode of Minecraft story over the past week. I will probably finish all of the episodes before the end of the year but I’m not all excited about it. Instead, I started Elea Episode One last night which is a walking simulator with light puzzles and some peril. At least that’s what it seems like through the first couple of chapters. Of course I will have the review posted by the time this hits next week, I’m hoping by Friday (I gave myself a deadline of Saturday but I’m going to try and finish early).
Anyway, we have sales today. It’s a lot of sales to be honest including some DLC as well as a couple of Xbox Original games. Destroy All Humans @ $2.99 is a steal, that’s for sure. I’ll work on links for the 80+ titles here but it will probably take me a while since the Major has not posted the official list and instead I only have to work with the way TA does it. Hit the –Read More–. Enjoy.
EDIT: 1:30PM Update – Official Link to Major Nelson’s sales page. There are some hold overs from the previous week but I won’t try to list them separately. If you think I’m missing something between last week’s list and this one, please drop me a line. Thanks!
